The club normally houses 2m and 70cm repeaters and some other on-air systems at the water tower in Elizabeth South. These have been off air for some time due to access issues at the tower. We have recently (08/24) had an influx of new members having appropriate qualifications to proceed with the antenna reconstruction and hope to make progress in the coming months.
The beacons were co-located with the repeaters and have suffered the same fate. We have been offered use of the AREG remote receiver site and are proceeding with tests to ensure they can be located at the AREG site without interfering with the existing equipment there. Should the tests be satisfactory we will be installing a solar power/battery system to run the beacons. Work is currently being done to facilitate this (08/24)
